Volunteer Opportunities

Make a Difference This Holiday Season

Volunteering with an Empty Stocking Fund partner agency is a powerful way to give back to your community. Whether you’re sorting donations, serving meals, or helping families in need, your time and compassion bring hope to neighbors facing hardship. Join us in spreading joy and making the season brighter for everyone.

Check back often—more opportunities will be added as they become available!

If your favorite agency isn’t listed yet, don’t worry! Many are still finalizing their volunteer needs. In the meantime, consider donating or sharing the Empty Stocking Fund mission with your network!

Event-based Opportunities

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care

Opportunity: Trees of Life
Location: Colorado Springs Pioneer’s Museum
215 S. Tejon St.
Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025 starting at 3 p.m.

Trees of Life is a time-honored annual community tradition which remembers those we love through the purchase of a light, an ornament or a starburst during the winter holiday season.

In its 41st year, the event culminates with an outdoor tree-lighting ceremony at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, where loved ones names are read in remembrance.
Tribute is also paid to our military and first responders by illuminating a special red, white, and blue tree in their honor. Hundreds of people attend regardless of the weather.
Music and complimentary refreshments also add to the spirit.

We will need help with setting up and taking down chairs and tables, greeting attendees, passing out votive lights, taking names to be read and audience name readers/escorts. Volunteers must be at least 14 yrs.

ALL volunteers are red at every event and are supported by a team of two staff members, a medical professional and behavior specialist.
